Foot and Hand Carers provide a basic foot and hand care service that does not require a Podiatrist's intervention. The Association is made up various Carers ranging from those that just do basic foot care, for instance, providing routine care of non-pathological feet which includes washing and drying, nail trimming and filing, as well as applying softening and anti-fungal agents, to those that 'Trims nails, reduce corns and calluses, massages, maintains and monitors the general hygiene of hands and feet'.

The important thing to note however is that the Foot and Hand Carer does not diagnose, and will only work under the parameters of their scope of practice or competency ,and will always refer to Podiatrists or general practitioners should problems arise.

Foot and Hand Carers provide domiciliary care in regional and remote areas which cannot support specialist care.
